The 2023 SKODA North Island School MTB Championships will be held in Rotorua from 14 - 16 April hosted by Rotorua MTB Club in the Whakarewarewa Forest. It will include Cross Country, Cross Country Relay, Enduro and Downhill events over the three days, with a central base at the bottom of the Downhill track on Pipeline Rd.

 
Categories
Age as at 31 December 2023.

Individual races:

U20, U17, U16, U15, U14, U13 boys and girls.


Team races:

Senior (U20) Boys and Girls
Junior (U16 - Year 7 & 8 can ride in a Junior team) Boys and Girls

Mixed teams must ride in the boys category

At a minimum competitors must be enrolled in Year 7.

 

Refund Policy

Refunds requested after the entry closing date will only be processed on the presentation of a medical certificate. All refunds will incur a $20 administration fee. 

 

Rules
This event will follow Cycling New Zealand Schools Rules, and the MTBNZ Technical Regulations.

 

Health and Safety
Everyone has a responsibly towards Health and Safety at an event.

The safety of the riders, officials, volunteer and spectators are included in the event planning. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Health and Safety please report to the Chief Commissaire or to the Event Manager.

School Sport New Zealand

Entries will open in 2023. Entries must be completed through your school only through Enter Now. No individual entries will be accepted. Schools must be affiliated with Cycling New Zealand Schools for 2023 before they can enter. 

 

Entry Limits

Cross Country: 500

Enduro: 500

Downhill: 200 

 

Due to the restricted number of entries available for the Downhill, Cycling New Zealand Schools will open a pre-registration period for the Downhill only (see dates below). Schools have until the advertised cut-off date to get their (pre) registrations in. If entries have not yet reached the maximum capacity after the pre-registration period then all entries will be confirmed and invoices sent out to schools. If entries have exceeded maximum capacity after the pre-registration period, CNZS reserves the right to determine which schools may need to remove riders from the entry list (see the criteria in appendix 5).

6 February – Pre-registrations for the Downhill open, Entries for the Cross Country and Enduro open

3 March – Pre registrations for the Downhill close, Entries for the Cross Country and Enduro close

13 March – Allocation of entries confirmed to schools

20 March – Entry List is finalised and invoices sent out
