
Cycling New Zealand Schools are excited to announce the 2024 Schools Cycling calendar!
2024 will offer 12 exciting Schools Cycling events for a full calendar of schools racing across Mountain Bike, Cyclocross, Road and Track.
First up, the schools mountain bike events will continue to support the growth in this popular code with the North Island MTB Championship event in Rotorua, from 17-19 March hosted by Rotorua MTB Club as part of Crankworx Rotorua 2024. Shortly following this is the South Island MTB Championships heading to Queenstown, from 21-23 March hosted by Coronet Peak with support from Queenstown MTB Club. Later in the year, the National MTB Championships are heading south to Christchurch, from 7-10 October hosted by Christchurch Adventure Park.
The North Island Road Championships will be held on 6-7 July in Cambridge and the South Island Roads is also on the same weekend in Christchurch, hosted by Canterbury Schools Cycling. The National Road Championships will be held on the 29 September- 1 October with location TBC.
The North Island Track Championships will be in Cambridge from 9-10 July hosted by Cycling New Zealand, while the South Island and National Track Championships (combined) event is in Invercargill from 8-9 October hosted by Cycling Southland.
2024 will once again see two Cyclocross events on our schools calendar. The South Island Championship event will take place in Blenheim on 21 July, hosted by the Marlborough MTB Club. The North Island Championships is also on 21 July which will be heading to Papamoa this year, hosted by the Tauranga MTB Club.
Then the Southern Tour will be on 24-25 August hosted by Cuddon Cycling Marlborough in Blenheim, with the Northern Tour on the 31 August - 1 September hosted by Cycling New Zealand in Auckland.
